Uploading a Certificate and Private Key

system

Introduction

This article is for administrators that already have an SSL certificate and corresponding private key that they wish to use with their LogonBox server.

1. Navigate to Certificates

The first step is to log in to LogonBox and navigate to Certificates in the left menu. If you are running multiple tenancy, your SSL certificate is located within the System realm.

2. Choose your Upload Format

There are a couple of upload formats available. You can upload an SSL certificate and private key in either PEM (multiple files) or a PFX (single file) format. Both have similar dialogs where you select the file(s) to upload and can optionally enter a passphrase for the protected file.

Locate the Default SSL Certificate entry and click on the gears icon to reveal the upload options.

3. Upload Files

After selecting Upload PEM or Upload PFX you will be presented with a dialog for you to select the files and enter the files passphrase.

Uploading a set of PEM files

You will need your signed certificate, the certificate bundle chain (usually provided by your certificate provider also) as well as the original private key.

Load all 3 files and click Upload PEM Files.

Uploading a PFX file

If you have a PFX instead, the key and certificates should be contained in a single file.

Note that the CA bundle (intermediate and root certificates) also needs to be in this file too for this to import.

Load the PFX file as the Key File and enter the PFX passphrase and click Upload PFX.

4. Restart the Server

Once you files have uploaded you can restart the server with the power icon at bottom right to put your certificate and key in place.

Note you will have to refresh the browser manually to force it to use the new certificate.
