Introduction
After logging in for the first time you will find yourself in the Administrative Dashboard. This page shows a number of graphs to give you an overview of the current state of your LogonBox. You can click on the Reorder Graphs link to move the graphs around by dragging them to place them in your preferred order.
The interface design is structured to help you become familiar with your LogonBox with minimal input. There are clearly defined items on the left hand menu, which can be opened with the menu icon .
Selecting an item from this collapsible menu on the left drives the rest of the user interface, showing further sub categories, tabs and content depending on the sections requirements.
The Page Layout
The image below will help you identify the structured sections that will be detailed below.
Top Menu
This menu displays some pages that are exclusive to Administrators, along with some standard user actions.
Realms - only on Enterprise licenses with Multiple Tenancy feature installed. Allows you to create and switch to a new realm so you can configure other User Directories with their own configurations.
Dashboard - click to return back to the Dashboard where you will find useful information about your LogonBox and its current state.
System Configuration - Global configuration options that affect the whole server.
Downloads - here you will find downloads such as the Secure Node Agent for connecting your LAN to your LogonBox or the Credential Providers for resetting passwords from System Logon.
Translations - override any of the text in the UI with text of your choice, requires the Translations feature to be installed.
Updates, Features & Licensing - Upgrade options, install and manage server features and apply licenses.
Language Selection - select the user interface language.
Sign Out - click to sign out of your session.
Main Menu
The main menu drives the user interface by displaying further sub categories for each menu item.
Home
My Resources
If you assign resources to users such as Password resource or Single Sign-On they will be accessible under this menu.
My Profile
This area is your own; where you can change your password, update other credentials and manage your own personal data.
Administration
Users & Permissions
Connect to a user directory and manage users, groups, user attributes to extend the information you store beyond your user directory, password policies and permissions.
Authentication Flows
Define your authentication policies for login, password reset, account unlock and SSO.
Sessions
See who is logged on and define how long sessions last, as well as default language settings.
Networking
If you need to access hosts behind a firewall, install Secure Node agent in the network for seamless integration with LogonBox.
Certificates
Create and manage SSL server certificates and SAML certificates.
Appearance
Alter the look of the UI. Add your own branding and alter colours/layout via stylesheet options.
Resources
Passwords
Add and share passwords with the password vault, create and manage SSO configurations.
Identity Services
Create and manage SAML SSO configurations.
Secondary Accounts
Connect to a secondary user directory and link accounts to your primary directory to allow users to reset both passwords at the same time.
Business Rules
Automations
Automate the server by executing tasks on a schedule.
Triggers
Execute tasks by reacting automatically to system events as they happen.
Banned Passwords
Extend your password security with a default dictionary of commonly used passwords to disallow, or add your own dictionary of words.
Webhooks
Build your own APIs by having the LogonBox server listen for external requests (use in conjunction with Triggers above).
Messages
Configure your outgoing email messages and mail relay settings.
Reports
Audit Log
All events in your domain are logged here. You can create your own custom filters and also export events as CSV data for use in external applications.
Icons and Controls
Buttons to save changes to the configuration, or to create new items, are displayed at the lower right of the Content Pane. In the below example, Apply will save the changes just typed in and Revert will undo that change.
If the buttons are greyed out, then no changes have been made to this particular configuration.
On screens which can display lists of items, such as in User Directory or Resources, each list item will have an expandable menu to the right .
Select the menu icon and the available actions will be displayed
To explain some of the options that you'll see:
Edit: Opens up the edit popup to allow you to alter the configuration of this item.
Copy: Opens up an edit popup with a copy of a configuration to help you more quickly create similar items.
Delete: Removes the item
Another set of controls appears above any list of items, these may change depending on the exact screen that is being displayed.
From left to right these are:
- Filter: A list of pre-defined filters to change the items being displayed
- Search: Select the type of item to search for then type in the text to search. The list dynamically updates as you type.
- Synchronize: Force a synchronize and reconcile of user accounts.
- Reset Profiles:
- Delete: Delete all selected items.
- Undelete: Undelete all selected items when filtering against deleted objects.
- Batch assignment (in resource lists): Allows you to add or overwrite Role assignments to multiple resources at the same time.
- Refresh: Refreshes the list of resources available.
- Columns Filter: Brings up a list of displayed columns which can be turned on or off in the Resource list.
In some lists of items you may be able to expand a resource to get more information on the item (e.g in users and audit events):
Expand resource and display extra information.
Collapse resource back to a single line.
Input fields
There are various input field types in LogonBox.
A standard text box which accepts free form text input
The Date control, click the calendar and select a date from the popup.
Time control. As above but for hours/minutes.
A list box. Enter text in the top text box and click the + to add it to the list.
ON/OFF switch, click or slide to change its state.
A search and select box. Start typing the name of the item you are looking for, which should pop up in a selectable list below. Select the item from the list to add the object to the list. You may type * to see all available items.
Dropdown selector. Select your option from a list.
File uploads. Click +, then Choose file to select your file to upload, then the upload button. Click the - to delete the file.
Multiple selection box. Click the Up or Down arrows to move an item to/from an Include/Exclude section.
