LogonBox SSPR - Release date: 22/10/2026

Introduction

LogonBox is pleased to announce the immediate availability of LogonBox SSPR 2.4.19.

This release includes EC cipher support and email connection pooling.

The changelog at the bottom lists all new features and bugs fixed.

At the same time, we are releasing an updated Desktop Credentials Provider

EC cipher support

You can now upload and deploy Elliptic Curve Cryptography (such as secp256r1 and secp384r1) SSL certificates alongside traditional RSA keys.

This improves cryptographic efficiency, lowers latency during connection establishment, and aligns with modern security best practices.

Email connection pooling

Added support for SMTP connection pooling when sending outbound emails.

Reusing active connections significantly reduces latency and lowers server resource consumption during high-volume email delivery such as profile reminders.

Updated Desktop Credentials Provider

Desktop Credentials Provider - version 6.4-1165 - has now been released, which contains the following features/fixes:

  • Credential-provider browser and logon flow: Fixed CEF reinitialization and worked on the “return to Windows, then start again” lifecycle.
  • Credential selection: Fixed selected credential field updates.
  • Black logon screen: Addressed a black logon screen issue on some installs.
  • TLSv1.3 support: Added TLS 1.3 support.
  • Caching updates: Fixed some items relating to the CefSharp cache-path.

Upgrade Instructions

You can directly upgrade from the web UI or the operating system.

To upgrade from the web UI, log on to your admin account, navigate to Server Status from the main dashboard, and click Update. If you have Updates, Features & Licensing->Update Prompt turned on, you may also be prompted automatically upon login.

To upgrade from the operating system:

On Windows – download the new installer, run the installer, and follow the prompts.

On a LogonBox VM – from a shell, type in:

apt update
apt upgrade

If you are still running a version before 2.3, you will need to perform some extra steps from the OS, as detailed here:

Our support team will upgrade Cloud customers over the coming week.

  • Password Last Change and Expires On values are now correctly updated again after a user resets their password.
  • Usernames with a ~ character can now reset their passwords.
  • Fixed an upload error with Replace Existing on SSL Certificate when no Bundle CA certificate is required.
